Pontypool. 18th century. Perhaps Quakers or with strong Quaker connections, but family relationships are uncertain. Prolific makers of brass-dial longcase clocks, signed 'Charles Vaughan', 'C. Vaughan', 'C.V.' or simply 'Vaughan' of 'Pontpool'
